2011 Recreational Fishing License Fees
Licenses are valid for one full year from date of purchase.

These fees are subject to change. For current pricing or to purchase a license, contact Unicoi Outfitters (706-878-3083) or Betty’s Country Store 706-878-2943. Copies of Georgia’s current “Sport Fishing Regulations” brochure are available at the Helen Welcome Center.

You need a license to fish if you are 16 years and older. The licenses are valid for a year from the day they're purchased. Two-year licenses are also available. An annual resident fishing license is $9, and a non-resident license costs $45. A three-day hunting or fishing license is $3.50 for residents, and $20 for non-residents. Trout licenses and stamps for fishing or hunting in a wildlife management area are additional. You can purchase a license from one of 400 local dealers located in sporting goods stores, bait shops and marinas. You also can buy a license online from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
